Route Optimiser is very different from standard A to B route planning. Planning routes for
one or more vehicles across many drop-off points, Route Optimiser will try to order the drop-off
points in the best possible sequence using Britain's most popular Route Planner content from the AA.
If you have a fleet of vehicles and don't mind which vehicle visits which waypoint, Route
Optimiser will automatically assign the best sequence of stop-off locations to each vehicle.
If, on the other hand, you have separate location lists for each vehicle, you can also optimise
each vehicle's route separately.
Route Optimiser is ideal for delivery companies, courier companies and indeed any company that
routinely visits several locations over the course of a day.
Standard features
With our standard service you can optimise delivery routes for single or multiple vehicles. The
following features are provided:
Each route calculated will show the distance to be travelled to each drop-off point and
gives an indication of the time it is likely to take to get between deliveries. By providing
a start time Route Optimiser can then give you an estimated delivery time for each drop-off.
Print-outs with driving directions
For each route optimisation job you will get a PDF document to print out for each vehicle
showing the deliveries to be made and in what order. You can also print out driving
directions between each vehicle's deliveries.
Premium features
The premium service includes all of the above features and has some extra of its own:
If a certain delivery needs to be made in a certain timeslot (between, say, 9am and noon)
this feature will automatically adjust the route (where possible) so you can make the
drop-off within the specified time.
Vehicle dimensions
We all know that large vehicles can't go everywhere. This feature lets you specify the
height, weight and width of each of your vehicles, and will selectively avoid any low
bridges and other obstacles unsuitable for your vehicle's size.
Useful for making the most of your vehicles in real-life situations, this feature lets you
specify pause times at each waypoint - where some or all of the stops may be more than a quick
drop-off.
